Anamaria Marina is an Romanian actor. She won with the British Academy Television Award of Best Actress in The Channel 4 Film Sex Traffic. She can fluently speak French, German English, as well as Romanian. Her father is a theater teacher at one of the country's highest-rated acting schools. In the Mangalia Gala of Young Actors, she was awarded the Best Female Actor Award 2000. The year 2008 saw her honoured"an European Shooting Star" by the European Film Promotion Board. In addition to her outstanding performance in her debut film she will also remember her role on the Romanian movie "4 months 3 weeks 2 days" which earned her many awards including her the European Film Award of Best Actress from the London Film Critics. She starred in the Romanian film 4 luni 3 weeks si 2 days (4 months, 3 weeks and 2 Days) by Cristian Mungiu. The film received the Palme d'Or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and two additional awards (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System and the FIPRESCI award). Additionally, she was a child in Francis Ford Coppola's Youth Without Youth. In 2008 she was the character Yasim anwar in BBC Mini-Series The Last Enemy.
