
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She is captain and striker for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the highest level of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team alongside Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from the year 2018 to 2020. [8][9] Shortly after graduating earlier from the University of California, Berkeley where she was a player for the California Golden Bears, Morgan was chosen as the number one overall pick in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. Morgan made her debut as a professional at the club , and also helped the team win the league championship. Morgan was 22 at the time, and was the youngest player on the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. In 2012's London Olympics she scored the match-winning goal the 123rd minute of the semi-final against Canada. She finished 2012 with 21 goals and 28 assists along with Mia Hamm as the only American woman to score 20 goals and provide 20 assists during the same year, making her the sixth and youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in a single season. She was then awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete Of The Year and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in helping the United States winning their titles at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups. Morgan was selected to both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
